BIOGRAPHY
Jannik Ohlendieck has written & directed numerous short films such as "The Crooked Path”, “What Lies Behind The Mask?” and “Time Goes By Slowly Around Here”.
He was also one of the producers on "QED", which was screened at the 2017 Galway Film Fleadh. The film gained international acclaim and was very successful in the festival circuit.
As part of the Filmbase Masters he has produced the feature film "Writing Home", which was also screened at the 2017 Galway Film Fleadh. The film was nominated for three awards: “Best First Feature”, “Best Irish Feature” and the "Audience Award”.
His most noteworthy project is the short film "The Crooked Path", which he wrote, directed and produced. "The Crooked Path" was nominated for three awards - “Best Script”, “Best Director” & “Best Actor” at the Dublin University Film Festival. Furthermore it was nominated for “Best Student Film” at the 9th Underground Cinema Awards.
In 2019, he acted, wrote, directed, produced and edited the short film "Down The Barrel", which was screened at the Dublin University Film Festival. The film also won “Best Cinematography” at the festival.
In 2020 he completed the short films "A Long Way From Home", "Aftermath" & "El Origen". Aftermath was nominated for “Best Experimental Film” at the International Moving Film Festival.
His next short film “What Lies Behind The Mask” was completed in 2021 and has also been screened at numerous international film festivals. Most notably Hallucinea Film Festival where it was nominated for “Best Experimental Film”.
"Time Goes By Slowly Around Here", his last short film has recently been completed and has be sent out to the festival circuit in 2022.
In 2023, Jannik has produced the dark comedy "White Roses" under his production company Fallschirm Films.
He has also edited a number of short films such as "8:13" and "Shee". "Shee" was produced by Idiosync & Top Floor Films whereas "8:13" was solely produced by Top Floor Films.. Both will be released later in the year.
His next endeavour is the feature film "The Black Sheep", which he has written and is looking to direct. Jannik directed a sample scene of the film and will be using this as a proof of concept for funding the full length feature.
